General adaptation of standards and guidelines

Overview

• If you are a Government Organization wish to make e-governance services accessible for persons with disabilities?

You can choose a combination of "Government of India Guidelines for Web accessibility" (GIGW), and "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines" (WCAG) for accessibility compliance.

• If you are a Corporate Organization operating in India and/or the US?

Choose WCAG of W3C or section 508 of the US rehabilitation act. Organisations can adapt accessibility compliance as per the geography of demography in which they are operating their businesses.

• If you are an Academic Institution, wish to provide accessible, barrier free, and inclusive education?

You can choose WCAG 2.0 or W3C that can best suit their need to provide equal access to students, researchers, faculties, academic administrates and visitors with disabilities. Organizations can also choose various document accessibility standards such as PDF accessibility, DAISY/Epub3 to ensure accessibility of course content.
